In 2016, Norway had the highest number of nurses per 1,000 inhabitants with 17,49. Austria had the highest number of doctors per 1,000 inhabitants with 5,13.

In 2017, Japan had the highest number of hospital beds per 1000 inhabitants with 13.07 followed by South Korea with 12.27 beds.

The indicator Hospital beds is defined by The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development as follows:
“This indicator provides a measure of the resources available for delivering services to inpatients in hospitals in terms of number of beds that are maintained, staffed and immediately available for use.</description>
